Rachel Wise is an award-winning multiplatform journalist with a passion for storytelling, compelling images and underreported issues. She currently works at the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism where she is a member of the Convergence faculty. Rachel teaches video and radio storytelling, multimedia production and photojournalism to graduate and undergraduate students. She also is video editor and co-producer of the RJI Futures Lab, a web video show that reports on innovation in journalism.
Originally from Central Florida, Rachel holds a master’s degree in journalism from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Rachel has worked for daily, weekly and online publications in Florida, New York and Tennessee. Before RJI, Rachel was an online producer for the Knoxville News Sentinel, where she produced web documentaries and multimedia packages in addition to managing web content and social media, writing columns and training staff. She has previously worked as an editor, reporter, photographer, copy editor and page designer.
